Goals for this week

I had visited a blog last week and was inspired to write down (and publicise) my weekly goals.  It seemed like a good idea at the time,  as I could always check back and see what I have or have not accomplished. Usually if I have things to do,  I think them out in my head and occasionally write them down.  So this should be better for me,  plus I’ll be somewhat under your scrutiny if I haven’t achieved my goals.
I’ll start easy this week. Mind you, as I am a busy student, all of my weekly goals may not be beauty-related.
By the end of this week I will have
1. Completed my reading (of journal articles) for my research project so that I have my background knowledge.
2. Gotten started on planning (theme included) for a student committee event.
3. Saved some money.
4. Remembered to remove my eye make up before bed.
5. Written another blog post at some point during the week.
Those are it for now.  Five goals that should be attainable for this week.  Let’s keep our fingers crossed that I can do it. What are your goals for the week?  Do you usually write them diwn,  or just go by memory?

Cute and Easy French tip nails tutorial

I learned this technique a while ago from SCCastenada on YouTube,  to create easy fool-proof french tip nails.  You don’t need tape nor nal strips.  I’ve tried it that way before and it always turns into a big mess for me.  But this way is a bit easier,  all you need is white nail polish,  acetone or nail polish remover with acetone and an eye shadow brush that you no longer use.  If it’s a “C”  shape that’s perfect, but the one I had was a bit more random because I used it before and it’s not the best quality.  I think you are supposed to use synthetic brushes, though I’m not sure what will happen with a real hair brush.

This is my first recorded nail tutorial and let me tell you,  preparing/filming it was not as easy as I thought.  Sadly at some points, you can’t see what I’m doing either, but I’ll work on that for the next tutorial! In my cramped room, I had so much trouble setting up my tripod for the perfect light,  and then I still needed to use my lamp because the video looked a bit dim. Also if it’s out of focus at some points I apologise, definitely need to get a camera where I can set the focal range.  That’ll be one of my goals for this year.

These are actually very easy (if you’re not recording yourself) to do. Just french tips and a cuttle like neon pink heart. I had more than one shade of pink, but I settled on this one. It’s not too flashy and doesn’t take a very long time. The hardest part was waiting for the polish to dry.

Anyway I hope you enjoy the tutorial and if you have any suggestions or criticisms you can leave them as a comment.  Also if you do these nails you can post them on my facebook fan page or @ mention me @Chrisamor28 on Twitter.

JewelMint Armcandy 2 for 1!

I received this email about a deal on JewelMint, which I have explained here. Arm candy pieces were all the rage in 2012 and the trend seems to be continuing in 2013. Currently JewelMint is allowing first time customers to buy 2 pieces for the price of 1 ($29.99)! Quite the steal, I’ve heard that they’re pieces are really nice quality. So if you were interested in trying them before, now would be a perfect time as you would be getting more piece than one for the price (this is only on bracelets however).

Offer code: 1FORU

I also saw this other offer for a surpirse gift, with the purchase of a full priced item. The gifts include an American express gift card, HomeMint candles, JewelMint credits, or pieces and even a Kindle Fire HD. I must say I was pretty impressed. This offer ends on 20th January, so if you don’t want to miss out I suggest hoping right on now!

My All Star products of 2012!

Hey all! This post will be short and straight to the point. In 2012, I got more into Coconut oil (a real oldie but recently hyped product) and Shea butter (a more recently hyped product). I can say I’m never going back to Olive oil or cocoa butter alone.

These are amazing products, for your hair and your skin. Both leave your skin or hair silky soft and well moisturised. Especially if your skin or hair has a bit of water on it… oh goooosh, they are great! If you’d like a more in-dept review on either of the two, or you would like to see how I do my Shea butter mixture for my hair and body, don’t hesitate to leave me a comment.

10 Random Questions!

Hey all! I saw this post on a blog I’m following and thought it’d be fun to do. Plus I just felt like writing a post, but I couldn’t figure out what on.

Today’s Questions:

1. What is a book that you are currently reading?

I just finished reading a book called “Aphrodite’s Kiss” by Julie Kenner. It was a fun book, a bit of superhero action, but it was still a romance. I like books with some dimension. If it’s a romance, I can’t stand just the cheesy love at first site, jump into bed kinda thing. I like where there is an understory. In this one the girl was a halfing, part mortal, part  “protector”/ greek god kind of thing. For a free Amazon book it was pretty good. Now I’m not sure which book I’m going to read, I have a bunch downloaded.

2. What is the first CD you ever bought yourself with your own money?

CD… hmm I’d been ages since I’ve bought music in the form of a CD. I think my very first was a Gospel CD by the artist MaryMary. I used to looove them. Still can remember their songs!

3. Favorite thing in your room?

Gosh, that is a good question. I guess my bed or dresser, because unlik emost things in my room, I can change those up (revamp them) pretty easily. I really hate my current wardrobe though, it’s just hideous.

4. Something you do on a daily basis?

Since I;m on vacation, I’m always checking Instagram or watching YouTube vids, or reading blogs. But during  school I am always one messenger chatting with my close friends.

5. Do you think it is okay for guys to be wearing pink?

Of course it is. It’s just a colour. Nothing is wrong with girls wearing blue.

6. What are you wearing now?

I’m wearing a Marciano by GUESS white tank top and a colourful tribal skirt for Forever21.  And my favourite blue throw because it’s chilly. I’m actually quite dressed up, usually I’d be in some pretty beat up T-shirt and a shorts.

7. Are you stubborn?

Very stubborn, but I call it opinionated. I usually have a pretty accurate intuition/ 6th sense about what might happen. Sometimes good sometimes bad, it can be brutal for those around me haha. But I like to try things and if it doesn’t work, I’ll try it another way.

8. Is it harder for you to tell someone that you do not love them or to tell them that you love them?

That is a very interesting question. I guess it’s harder to say that I don’t love them, because it would hurt their feelings, especially if they’re really into me.

9. Love or trust?

You have to have trust if you want love, but you don’t necessarily need love to have trust. I guess I’d choose trust, because then love can follow after. Too many people love without trusting and cause themselves problems.

10. Finish the sentence, “I’m following you, and your following me, so why don’t we…”

Hold up, why are you following me.. Unless you mean Twitter or Instagram, haha. I’m following you, you’re following me, so why dont we stop going in circles and talk to each other.

I hope you enjoyed this!
