Jasmine loves to be cozy when hanging out:

During the fall in New York it can be nice and warm in the day and chilly at night. You want to be able to wear something that can be converted into both types of weather so this is why I paired a light motor jacket with a crop top. Fall in New York also means the return of dark colors. Weather its black, greys or dark greens. I try to look fashionable on budget and Forever21 is a great place to do that.

Mandy loves to dress up when she’d headed out:

random outfit

This is my going out outfit. I usually stick with a nice dress, and a cardigan because I’m always super cold. I love these topshop boots because they are super edgy, but comfortable and easy to walk and/or dance in.

Christina loves to look chill when hanging out:

It’s hot in Barbados all year round, so when I chill with friends, I usually think of comfort, unless we’re going to some swanky place. I could go from classes to the beach, house party or elsewhere in this look without any effort. Shorts are a year-round thing (although this week’s been raining buckets). I also love this magenta peplum top I got from JCPenney, that I layered a white F21 cami under it in case it got cooler later. Shoes are from Payleess Shoe Source, I love these sandals! My bag is from Call it Spring, just my everyday purse. I would also add a cardigan to this, but I had forgotten it, haha!

Lucy loves a good party:

So here’s my going out look, I love this look because its so easy to dress up or down, if you’re off somewhere that’s not that fancy but still want to make an effort – swap the heels for flats, perfect!
Kimono, Primark: £15
Cami Top, Topshop: £18
Shorts, Levi’s  (second hand, Urban Outfitters): £20
Shoes, New Look: £25

Bag, Dorothy Perkins: £11
Necklace, Primark: £4

I’m still clutching onto the hope that it’s summer here, but this look still works in winter, just make sure to take a coat too! Specifically over here in freezing cold England!

Stay tuned on my blog for more about this look and others!

Mandy’s 1st Day Outfit

Hi! This is my first day of school outfit 🙂 I’m wearing a pleated school uniform skirt from land’s end, my top is from Johnnie B., a target headband, and keds. My school doesn’t have a dress code, but I love school uniform clothes because they’re high quality and the only place I can find plain knee length skirts, and the pleats are so perfect on this skirt.
I like to wear sneakers because my school’s campus is pretty big and I have to walk outside to get from class to class. They’re also helpful for running to meet my friends who I haven’t seen all summer :P.
The basic elements of this outfit make it easy to switch out something for a cool statement piece, like my sunflower diy flower crown.

Jasmine’s Easy Going Outfit

image

When I need an easy going day outfit its all about comfort. For fall time in New York I like a long sleeve that is still light because the weather can go be warm one minute and cool the next. Also for an easy day outfit I love flats. They pretty much go with anything and are easy to get around in. I like to still be fashionable and on budget and lulus.com has great variety of stuff for that.

Christina’s 1st Day Outfit

As you might have known, I’m in my final year of university, about to start what should be my final semester *crosses fingers*, so my dress-code is more laid-back and easy. I don’t like a lot of fuss for school, but I do love to be comfy and warm in class. I paired my Old Navy White tee with these RockStar jeans also from ON. I swear this wasn’t sponsored, just a coincidence!

In Barbados, it’s hot all year round, so it’s almost always appropriate to wear shorts. But because it’s the first day, I am wearing these red ankle-length pants because you never know what temperature your lecture theatres will be. I’m also wearing AirWalk pumps, they’re so easy on your feet and perfect for long days! To accessorise my BCBG statement bracelets from Macys and my usual necklace from my grandmum.

Lucy’s Easy Going Outfit

So, here’s my chilled out university look. I think it’s perfect for a day studying, and when you don’t want to look too dressed up – but still on trend. I love these cigarette trousers, I think they really make an outfit pop, and available in a number of high street stores – so you don’t need to settle for one pair! (I know I haven’t). This light blazer is perfect for everyday, I know it’s a bit pricier at £50 but I constantly wear it, so relaxed and slouchy. It’s always good to buy a statement piece every now and then that you’re going to get a lot of wear out of.

Accessories, Accessories, Accessories! This necklace I love, there’s a lot of chain necklaces on the high street at the moment and for £4 you can’t go wrong! This particular one also has a bit of weight to it, there’s nothing worse than a light, barely there necklace.
Blazer – Topshop £50
Cigarette Trousers – H&M £7 (sale, bargain right?)
Top – H&M (bought years ago)
Boots – Dorothy Perkins £28 (sale, 20% off original price)
Necklace – Primark £4
Hope you enjoyed seeing our Back to school Style, be sure to come back next week for part 2!

College Makeup look | Beauty

Hey all! I was getting ready to take some pics for my Back to School outfits post (hopefully going up tomorrow) and I quickly created this make up look using the Smashbox eye shadow trio I talked about here. I loved how it came out. It’s so simple, yet pretty. Or so I think, you tell me.

Also let’s not forget the WWBH, click the button below!

I think this is college appropriate especially for the first day, or if you’re going out after classes. Very subtle make up. I love it.

What I used:
Smashbox Photo Finish PrimerNYX Stay Matte Not Flat Foundation in Chestnut
NYC Smooth Face Loose Powder in Translucent
Maybelline MasterShape by Eyestudio brow pencil- deep brown

e.l.f. clear mascara and brow gel
Smashbox Photo Op Eyeshadow Trio in Proof Sheet
Maybelline The Falsies Big Eyes mascara in Blackest Black
Smashbox Cream Cheek Color in Captivate
e.l.f Blush and Bronzing kit- Turks and Caicos
MAC Lipstick in Daddy’s Little Girl

Be sure to check back tomorrow for the Back to School post!

(Late) Back to School Lookbook

Hey all! I actually thought I had posted this video here ages ago, until I looked into my posted and realised, there’s none for this.

As I was asked, I created a school lookbook back in August for Back to school, however when classes started in September, I hadn’t the time to edit right away. But I made sure to put aside some time and edited the heck out of this video. Honestly I suck as the posing and being fun while showing off the clothes for videos hahaha. I guess I’ll have to get better at it, but it is awkward standing there twirling for no apparent reason lol. Anyway here is the anticipated video.

For school comfort is key and I am usually a jeans and Tee shirt girl, very simplistic and easy to throw on when you’re in a rush, but in this video, I should you some of my more thought out looks (some of these I’ve actually worn to school).  (also I forgot to say I’m not much of an accessories person, I hardly ever buy any).

What I wore:

Outfit #1

Blue Ruffle Collared top- Bridgetown
Striped stretch cotton Skirt- H&M
Purple Snakeskin flats (old)- Kenneth Cole

Outfit #2

DIY Denim vest (old)
Basic White Cami- Forever21
Grey Knit Shorts (old)
Graffiti Sneakers (old)- AirWalk (Payless)

Outfit #3

Nautical Zippered stripe shirt (old)
Basic White Cami – Forever21
Grey Knit Shorts (old)
Beige Flip flops- Old Navy

Outfit #4

Hooded shirt-dress- Volcom (Pacsun)
Basic white cami- Forever21
Black leggings- Bridgetown
Purple Snakeskin flats- Kenneth Cole

IF you have any more outfit suggestion videos, or even style suggestions, I welcome them in the comments!

It’s been grueling already… but videos are coming !

Hi everyone! (PS: I was typing this from my tablet and on 4 hours of sleep, so please excuse any typos.)
College is back in session and with a bang. I am still feeling a bit unprepared, but luckily I don’t think I’m the only one. Not only the students but the lecturers seem a bit weary and out of sorts.

The other night I had a prep for a lab I had signed up to help out with so I would learn some technique, however none of us not even the instructor knew that time and resources would come to be our enemies. So here it was 12 am and the really challenging parts hadn’t been done as yet. I don’t think I left until it was 2 am, oh for love of subject.

Searching around for reagents delegating tasks and making sure we were doing the right thing, not the mention how much stair climbing I did. I don’t think I’d had a workout like that since PE in 3rd form (14 years old). Did I mention that I had a class for 8 am class the next day? Oh my gosh was it hard to get out of bed at 6:30.

We had a good group of people with us though, stopped many from falling asleep and considering it was our first time, I think we did a good job.

I still have one last back to school video to post. The well awaited outfits for school. Mind you I’m not a diva when it comes to school, I would choose comfort over fashion most days, though I still do have my weird style to it. So for the video, I tried to strip out of my box of practical jeans and easy graphic tees for something a bit more fun and cute. If I had no labs, or wasn’t always at school for hours on end, especially in these chilly classrooms, then I’d be killing these outfits. Who knows though, I might just wear a couple when I have a light day. 🙂

Strangely enough, I have not felt like vlogging my back to school experiences. I just think it’s a bit too boring. It is final year and so far not much exciting things have happened. But we’ll see.

My August favourites is coming, I’d love to have it up before the week is out actually, so I may complete editing that today.

That’s all for now. How has your first day been? Is back to school as exciting as the ads make it? Or are you just having a settling week like I am? Feeling a bit unprepared or anxious as to what this semester will hold? Why not tell me about it in the comments!

Back to School MAKE UP! ♡

Hey all! So here I have 2 different tutrials for school using the same palette. My Sleek Make up “Oh So Special” palette. This is a nice neutral palette for everyday and I was able to create two very easy looks with it.
For school I think if anything at all you should moisturise, groom your eyebrows (and make them look decent as I say), and highlight those peekers especially if you wear glasses. You could also use a bit of concealer on blemishes or under your eyes for an instant lift!

The first tutorial is a natural, ready-to-run-out-the-door look, while the second is more polished, with some more effort put into eyeliner and contouring the eye area.

To see them, just click on the videos below!

Back to school ESSENTIALS! ♡

Aside from the books and all the other stationery you should be carrying for school, here’s what I think would be useful in any make up bag!

I barely carry any make up, just not my thing when it comes to school. I don’t have the patience to be in bathrooms reapplyign anything. I just like to get to classes on time and chill in my free time. It’s college anyways, so what if your eyebrows aren’t done?

One thing you always should have in your bag, whether a guy or girl, is a MIRROR. I don’t mean so you can stare at yourself forever more, but there are certain things you should always be able to check on. Like your teeth after having lunch or a snack. How embarrassing is it to be chatting up a girl or to be talking to a cute guy and there’s remnants of lunch staring them in the face? (Don’t forget chewing gum or tooth paste is also very important.)

If you want to know what else I think is essential for any make up bag, then check out my video below!

Lazy Sunday Chit Chat: School & Fall

Hey all! Finally got back to writing these chit chats which I missed posting. This Sunday is the final day of vacation before dreaded school starts back. I know it’s not great to have such a bad attitude about school because it will benefit me in the long-run, but really I’m just feeling sad about it starting again.

This year is my final year of university and despite having registered, I don’t feel ready to return tomorrow. I feel like a need another week to upload videos, read blogs and to go buy school supplies, which I have slacked on purchasing this summer. Very unlike me, because I love stationery and that’s what excites me most about going to school.

Regardless, I don’t feel like my summer has been wasted at all this year. I may not have gotten a paying job, but I did many things which I’m very happy about, spent time with friends and family, kept my videos and post very consistent and even had some new adventures, one which you will hopefully be seeing very soon. (Hint: it has something to do with film.) Some things this summer could have been better, but I’m hoping as the year goes by that I can improve that.

I have big goals for this school year  which I will hopefully achieve to the best of my ability as well as quickly. Funny thing though, at the beginning of the school year I feel more inclined to make life changes or set new goals than at New Years.

Speaking of school, you may have noticed that I’m doing Back to School videos. A tad late, but nonetheless informative, so make sure to check it out. I’ll have a direct link to the related posts in the right sidebar.

Anyway, I’ve also been thinking about Fall. The season not the action haha. I know in Barbados we don’t get Fall or Autumn as some call it, just year-long sunshine or the occasional rainfall. It’s the one thing that makes me envoious of the countries with 4 seasons. I love cold weather apparel, the cute woolen UGG boots, oversized knit sweaters, and hoodies. Leggings (the one of the only times it’s acceptable to wear leggings as pants), calf-high leather boots, funky socks, super comfy pajamas, scarves and of course, beanies and barets!

This year I’m hoping to do a fall lookbook using Polyvore, taken inspiration from the MBFW Fall 2012 collections. I’ve already started compiling looks I want to recreate or add my own quirks to.
If you have any suggestions for looks, don’t hestitate to tell me. You could leave it as a comment, or email me at chrisamoryt@gmail.com.

Back to school HAIR! ♡

Hey all! I actually don’t like school that much haha, but I was requested to do some back to school videos. So the first one up is a video of these two super easy hair tutorials. Takes no time at all and in fact you can prep for hair from the night before by moisturising and plaiting in two french braids or cornrows as we Caribbean people call them. Make sure to use a holding spray or hair gel (I chose gel because it works for my hair well when I do braid-outs like this).

So you get some really beachy waves this method and if u want tigher wavs, you can do more cornrows. However in beign lazy I only did 2.

Usually this is how these waves look on freshly relaxed hair. (My hair actually is overdue for a relaxer, but nevermind that.)

Here’s the vid!
