Coastal Scents Blush Too Palette | Swatches

Hey all! another installment of my Coastal Scents  haul, yayyy! I bought a couple palettes, a brush set and some eye shadows. I’ve showed you the lip palette and the eye shadows in their pots, and today I’m going to be showing you another palette, the Blush Too.

I have the original blush palette by this brand, but I’m telling you now the colours in this one are more up the alley for darker-skintones. Despite the Original 10 Piece blush palette being pigmented, many of the colours were too light and ended up looking like a chalky mess on me. I love this newer one because the colours are richer, darker and more daring. Have you seen this orange and that purple blush? Not for the faint at heart. If you’re just starting out in makeup, trust me and leave this out.  I’m glad I bought the original then, because had it been this palette, I’d look like a clown quite often.

Onto the swatches…

Absolutely beautiful colours! I’ve been wearing the 4th blush on the first row and the 3rd one on the second row every chance I get. I am in love with those two. I think these would look FABULOUS on darker skin tones, so go get you one of these palettes!

Coastal Scents 32 Lip palette | Swatches

Hey all! I’m really late today, but I wanted to get up this post because I promised I’d post the rest of my Coastal Scents haul. I’ll let the photos do the talking as there isn’t much to say about this palette besides that it’s a really good deal especially if you want to do other people’s makeup or want to try new colours without buying individual lippies.

The pots are the size of a quater, and not every colour in the palette is opaque, but there is a good mixture of creams, shimmers, frosts even, and sheer colours. The would be fun for mixing your own custom colour. All of them have a gloss finish, but if you blot your lips you would get a more matte look.

Coastal Scents Hot Pots | Haul

Hey all! You probably know by now I am obsessed with Coastal Scents. I love the affordability of their products and the quality. Kinda makes me wonder if I should ever bother with buying anything else makeup-wise.

On Black Friday I went a bit crazy, as their Hot Pots were about $0.99USD each! You cannot beat that with a stick! I just recently received my order (as I didn’t ship it straight home here in Barbados), and had the chance to take some photos of the colours. There’s lots more of  this haul coming, but here’s a little something to hold you guys over until I can do the swatches.

As you can see, I went the route of neutrals this time around. I heard some of these are dupes for MAC eye shadows too. I can’t wait to swatch and use these babies!

Coastal Scents Hot Pots (RW) | Swatches

Hi everyone to the first of many Rewind Wednesdays. I have tons of old posts that could do with some love, so here goes!

Way back in 2011, I had bought the Coastal Scents hot pots, which are the single eyeshadows you can make a palette out of. There were a lot of colours to choose from, many of which came from their own special palettes. Now there’s even MORE colours to choose from and they’ve even given them quite nice names. I am not sure what these ones would be called now, but I plan on updating that information to this blog in the near future.

Spring Make up look & Announcement

Hey all! Today I have a make up look I recreated from Maya Mia (Instagram). I haven’t done full out make up in so long, please excuse my mistakes. As usual, my lashes are a bit wonky, but I hope you enjoy the look.

On the note of make up, I was to publish a post about my YouTube hiatus/break, but I kept putting it off until I could make a video. Sadly, time has passed me by and I haven’t. I will not be making video tutorials or beauty videos until about August or September. Hopefully I’d be able to start back earlier than that, because I really miss making them and replying to comments and doing tags. Anyway, you can leave requests for videos on my channel, blog, or Facebook and at least I’d have a bunch of videos to do by the time I get back.

Blue Winged liner FOTD

Hey everyone,  just popping in to show you my face of the day.  I hadn’t intented to get such a dramatic cat-eye,  but sometimes you just have to roll with it.  I used an Avon glimmersticks pencil liner in Starry night (a navy blue with a hint of shimmer)  and to set it,  I used a blue Coastal Scents eyeshadow.  Other than that I just groomed my eyebrows as usual and applied a light coat of M.A.C. Daddy’s Little Girl lipstick.  I wil be doing swatches and a review of this lipstick very soon.

How’s your week going so far? Hopefully all is well.

Xoxo

Coastal Scents HAUL!

Recently I got a few items from Coastal Scents. I finally got a blush palette, I always have trouble finding a blush here and the ones I had just did not go with every look. I’m very impressed by the quality of these blushes. Although everyone is not for my skintone, they are very saturated with pigment and they look like dupes for more expensive department store shades. I already found one that could be a dupe for M.A.C. Ambering Rose blush. I may compare them later as my sister owns that shade.

I also was able to get 2 new brushes. A nice blending one that Coastal Scents brought back (thank God), the pro-blender brush. It is a dupe for the M.A.C. 217 brush and I’ve actually seen more than one brand with a brush very similar to this for blending. Sigma also has one called the E25. I love this brush so far. The bristles are goat hair and it does blend very nicely.

Finally, I got the Small Detailer brush, which is a purpose detail brush for any cream or liquid product. Currently I’m using it for eyeliner and I was very impressed by how well it applied the product. Definitely would get more of these.

What products would are you loving or want to get from Coastal Scents? Any recommendations for new brushes?

Disclaimer: All products mentioned where given to me as gifts by one of my best friends, Blackman and I am in no way affiliated with the company mentioned. Opinions are my own, as are the images.

Coastal Scents ROUND UP!

Hey all! Here’s a round up of the Coastal Scents Hot pot swatches! One things is for sure, these are great quality for the money, especially for newbies like myself.

The palette can get a bit messy after a few uses, but that can be cleaned. Also, you have to becareful when putting these in and taking them out because if you drop them they’re very likely to break. Even dropping the palette can break them although the palette is very sturdy. I happened to drop my palette right after I was finished (such a klutz) and it broke to of them, but I was able to fix them back with alcohol  afterwards, so that was good.

If you have a problem with broken eyeshadows and you don’t know how to fix them i could do a video on it to help you out. Just post a comment on this post for that.

Coastal Scents Hot Pot Swatches- Purples & Greens!

Hey all! Recently Coastal Scents had some sales, and I picked out some cool eyeshadow pots, also known as hot pots by CS. You choose 12 and you get the free palette, or you could just buy them separate. Either way I choose 15 colours. Here’s a comprehensive view of them all. BTW, these are highly pigmented. I did not even use a base or primer. For some colours I also did not bother to take photos with flash because it was very true to colour. I am going to do this in 2 posts.

 Let the FUN begin!

They came packaged like this and in a zip-lock bag:

Some of my pots dropped while they were in the packaging, so if you see any with scratched or odd looking surfaces that’s why.

The Purples: Of course I had to buy purple eyeshadow or I wouldn’t be Christina!

S28- deep, rich brown mauve with shimmer

S13- deep mid tone plum with shimmer

S16- rich warm purple with shimmer
M15- cool tone, bright matte purple

The Greens: There were a few of these that I really wanted to expand my colour range.

ME01- deep olive green with brown undertones. (when I first saw it I thought of Club by M.A.C but it’s not much like it)

S25-  teal with cool shimmer (not much to this colour)
S11- cool tone turquoise with shimmer
M03- matte bright lime green

On to the Neutrals and Brights…

XOXO
