Beauty store Spoilage | Haul

Hey all! About two weekends ago, I had stopped in the beauty supply store (Diamond Girl), and I was in a bout of luck as they had just restocked everything, including MILANI!! Whenever I usually go in there, they’re out of all the baked blushes, so I made sure I picked up a couple 😀 hehe. Also I got a new liquid liner to try out and I must say, I’m enjoying the brush on this one a lot more than the NYX one I have.

I bought some weaving thread for a project I’m putting together to show you guys, so look out for that soon.

I also picked up some makeup wipes from the beauty supply store, to try out. So far they’re very soft, and work ok.
Finally, I picked a Jolie lipstick at the Girlfriend’s expo, in the colour Imperial purple. I’ve been lusting after this colour for about a year now! Swatches coming on that soon.

Disclaimer: These products were purchased with my own money. Opinions are my own.

Coastal Scents Hot Pots | Haul

Hey all! You probably know by now I am obsessed with Coastal Scents. I love the affordability of their products and the quality. Kinda makes me wonder if I should ever bother with buying anything else makeup-wise.

On Black Friday I went a bit crazy, as their Hot Pots were about $0.99USD each! You cannot beat that with a stick! I just recently received my order (as I didn’t ship it straight home here in Barbados), and had the chance to take some photos of the colours. There’s lots more of  this haul coming, but here’s a little something to hold you guys over until I can do the swatches.

As you can see, I went the route of neutrals this time around. I heard some of these are dupes for MAC eye shadows too. I can’t wait to swatch and use these babies!

NYX Haul | Beauty

Hey all! I went to get my hair done on Friday (I’ll have some pics up of that later, but if you follow me on Instagram you already saw them) and decided to stop by #1 Beauty Supply store afterwards. How lucky of me, as I’usually the last person on these things, but I saw they brought in a NYX display and it was fully stocked. I didn’t take any pictures then, but I definitely will when I go back. Surprisingly too the prices were affordable enough for my student budget! I was jumping for joy, I just had to get something.

I got mostly pencil products as I know I probably have too many lip products (a makeup drawer full and then some) and I wasn’t too excited about the foundation, since I had bought some new ones to test out the week before.  I got these two lip liners, in Natural and Plum as I was convinced by a friend the day before that I needed NYX lip liners in my life. How funny the timing of this all!

Then I got an eyebrow pencil as my Maybelline MasterShape was going through it’s last days and I had actually stopped using it until I found a replacement. And because you always need a good black eyeliner, I picked up their liquid liner in first black and then I saw this gorgeous bright blue, that I cannot wait to wear!

I was very impressed by the selection, colours and prices available at #1 Beauty Supply store when it came to this NYX display. Definitely want to go back and get more stuff before all the good things are sold out.

Collective Beauty Haul | Beauty

Hey all! I have a haul for you. It’s been a while since I went into Collins and bought actual makeup. Typically I’d get skincare, snacks and other random things from there. But since I really needed to repurchase a lip balm and the Baby Lip was in stock, I was also tempted by the new Maybelline and L’Oreal displays, I took the opportunity to get some stuff to try out during October.

So here’s the stuff I got from Collin’s Pharmacy. I’ll be reviewing the L’Oreal True Match Foundation and the concealer. These are my first foundations from this brand and I’ve heard plenty rave about them. I wonder how they’ll hold up to our climate. I already reviewed the Maybelline Baby Lips in Peppermint here, but I also picked up Pink Punch to try out.

I also needed some hair things, so I got these neutral hair ties, some hair elastics (not pictured) and… I found these velcro hair bows which you use if you’re washing your face, applying make up etc so your hair isn’t in your face, but it isn’t clipped back to get a kink in it. I used to see so many Asian YouTube beauty girls use these, I lusted them for ever. So far so good, they actually stay in my hair. I might review them, so tell me if you’d like me to do that.

I also got this 120 colour BH Cosmetics palette, along with a glitter and one of the BH Cosmetics waterproof eye liners from a really good friend of mine, thanks Sam! I can’t wait try out some really crazy makeup looks with them. I don’t know if I’ll post any to be honest though. I’ll have to see just how well they come out.

e.l.f. Beauty Haul! | Beauty

About a month back or so, e.l.f. had a promotion and I decided to finally pick up some products I had been lusting after for some time. I didn’t get them sent straight here to Barbados, as it costs way too much with shipping PLUS duties (story of a bajan beauty girl). Anyway, I sent it to a friend of mine and when they came in it felt like it was Christmas as it was a guess to what I was getting, I had completely forgotten. I ordered online with my sister and we got quite a lot of stuff for just $50USD. Gotta love e.l.f prices!

Here’s my haul, I got 2 new face brushes, because I literally have one powder brush and I have to use it for blush, bronzer and face powder. I got the e.l.f Studio Angled blush brush and the regular blush brush. I love the shape of them both, they seem like they’d work very well.

I also picked up some of their Essentials All Over Color Sticks, after wanting to try them for some time. I had seen some reviews on the colours and pigmentation, and as mentioned in my June Favourites, I’m head over heels for Pink Lemonade. It makes a fabulous blush/highlighter. I’ll be doing a swatch post on the ones I picked up. Also for my face, I got the raved HD blush and the Contourin g Blush and Bronzer kit. I can’t remember if the colour I have in the contour kit is the original, but I am happy that it can work on my skin tone. The blush could be a bit deeper in tone, but it just means I’d have to layer it with another.

AsI want to be more on my brow game, I picked up the Studio Eyebrow kit in Medium, which Shaanxo always uses and raves about, it was $3USD so who could really complain right? I also got the Essentials clear mascara and brow gel duo. So far I really like how well it sets my brows.

Finally I picked up a handful of nail polish, because I hardly ever paint my nails and when I do it’s the same old boring colours. Stepping out of my box, I got some pretty neutrals, lots of glitters and a gorgeous bright teal polish that I cant wait to paint my toes with!

What do you think of e.l.f. products? I find they can be pretty pricey here when the locals are retailing them, but sometimes the products are worth the buck.

New York Haulin’ | Beauty

Hey guys, sorry this post wasn’t up earlier today, had to do some errands before work this morning, threw off my schedule a bit. Anyway this is  a quick post on the beauty products I picked up while in New York. I got a few things for my girl friends as well, but I won’t show them here and risk ruining the surprise haha.

On the first few days in Brooklyn, I explored some of the streets and came across a number of beauty stores and while perusing I decided to pick up some false lashes. These some from Kiss are quite a bargain. There are TWO sets in this box and it was just $2.99USD, way cheaper than home!
I picked up the medium length Classic flares, I can’t wait to try them.

I also passed by a Walgreens, seriously every block seems to have a drugstore or 4. I got a few Maybelline  and L’Oreal items, they had some really good deals along with a few coupons that I had, I saved quite a bit on them :).

Pictured is the L’Oreal Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain in Lilac Ever After, Maybelline Master shape Brow pencil, Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bold Gold and a new Maybelline Falsies mascara called Big Eyes. I tried out the bottom lash mascara and love how effortless it is to apply (no smudges yay!). I’m still playing with the lip colour, as I tried it on then scuffed down a bunch of food haha.

We went to the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets on Memorial day (I think) and I found a Cosmetics Company Outlet, yay! I always hear people talk about how you can find the limited edition, discounted and sometimes discontinued make up products there and I was so happy to stumble across this one. I picked up a value set from Smashbox Cosmetics. There were also so MAC, Clinique, Estee Lauder and Bobbi Brown products, but none of them really tickled my fancy. I’ll be doing a separate post on the Smashbox set.

Finally, because I promised myself from earlier this year to buy more nail polish and pamper myself, I picked up these pretties from Bed, Bath and Beyond. (Yeah, they have a beauty section, it shocked me too). Anyway, a few of the Nicole by O.P.I. were on clearance so I searched the bin and came across “Listen to Your Momager” from the Kardashian Kolors collection, and “You Can!”. I currently have on the blue polish and I’m in love! Also I picked up a Sinful Colors polish in “Innocent”, a nice bright chartreuse. my sister had this colour and I just had to get it!

Anyway that’s my haul, not too much. Definitely not everything I wanted, but I’m still happy I got something. There should be some reviews and swatches of these products coming up really soon, so just keep watching this space!

Giveaway haul!

Hey all! I was lucky enough to win the Pretty (Squared) giveaway for Christmas! I was so happy and grateful to have won, they are two sisters who share a blog. AND they are extremely nice! Go check out their blog, they give some really informative reviews and tons of great posts!

I’ve never won anything that I’ve entered online, so I was super stokedwhen I got the email. A lot of the products in this giveaway, had been raved about my other bloggers and beauty gurus, and I had always wanted the chance to try them out. To see what all the hype was about, you know?

I’ll probably do full reviews on a some of them and mini reviews on others. The prize pack included:

  • American Apparel Nail lacquers in “Lipstick” and “Hunter”
  • Wet N Wild Trio in “I’m Getting Sunburned” and “Don’t Steal My Thunder”
  • EOS lip Sphere in “Blueberry Potion” (LE collaboartion with Disney)
  • Revlon Lipbutter in “Raspberry Pie”
  • Target make up bag FILLED with samples (YAY!)
  • Snowflake ornament (very cute and glittery indeed)

If you didn’t know, I love samples and it’s not often that you can get samples in Barbados, unless you buy somethign and even so, it depends where you buy. So if they had just sent me a make up bag of samples I would have been very excited and grateful. HOWEVER, I got even more than that! I’ve always hear so much hype about the EOS lip spheres and the Wet N Wild Eyeshadows and finally I own some!

Lately I’ve been testing out the EOS lip sphere, so stay tuned for a full review on it. Also I’ve been using the Wet N Wild trio in “I’m Getting Sunburned”, during the day since it’s more neutral than the “Don’t Steal My Thunder”. I have been posting pictures to my Instagram of my daily face make up, so hit me up on there if you would like to see what I’m up to. (It’s taken over from my twitter, which has been harder to post pics on, from my tablet.) Finally I’ve been really liking my new lip butter, I previously had the “Candy Apple Red” one, but this is a nice shade also.

Thank you again Mackenzie and Miranda!!

Coastal Scents HAUL!

Recently I got a few items from Coastal Scents. I finally got a blush palette, I always have trouble finding a blush here and the ones I had just did not go with every look. I’m very impressed by the quality of these blushes. Although everyone is not for my skintone, they are very saturated with pigment and they look like dupes for more expensive department store shades. I already found one that could be a dupe for M.A.C. Ambering Rose blush. I may compare them later as my sister owns that shade.

I also was able to get 2 new brushes. A nice blending one that Coastal Scents brought back (thank God), the pro-blender brush. It is a dupe for the M.A.C. 217 brush and I’ve actually seen more than one brand with a brush very similar to this for blending. Sigma also has one called the E25. I love this brush so far. The bristles are goat hair and it does blend very nicely.

Finally, I got the Small Detailer brush, which is a purpose detail brush for any cream or liquid product. Currently I’m using it for eyeliner and I was very impressed by how well it applied the product. Definitely would get more of these.

What products would are you loving or want to get from Coastal Scents? Any recommendations for new brushes?

Disclaimer: All products mentioned where given to me as gifts by one of my best friends, Blackman and I am in no way affiliated with the company mentioned. Opinions are my own, as are the images.

Micro-Haul from GFE

Hey everyone, in case you hadn’t already known, last weekend I volunteered at the Girlfriend’s Expo and had a great time. For more on that click here!

While I was there I was amazed by the number of make up brands and even the services available here in Barbados. I just got 3 things, as I was trying not to go overboard.

First I got a Sleek Make up I-Divine Palette in “Oh So Special”. The black in this palette is so saturated. I had seen this online and was so excited to see it on-sale there. I got mine from the Essential Trends’ booth.
I was very impressed that they had tester palettes and insisted on giving out a Sleek bag specifically for the Sleek products.

Ash also picked up a lovely ColorClub nail polish from them and they also gave her free emery boards. That was a nice touch!

I love the packaging of this very SLEEK! hahahaa

I haven’t used my palette as yet, I was saving it for the photos hahah. But I can’t wait to start using it. I really needed a neutral eyeshadow palette. There was also the I-Divine palette in “Au Natural” but I was more drawn to this one from before.
Another cool one they had was the Acid Palette, covetted by many a YouTube guru, but not available in the USA because of FDA restrictions. There were some fluorescent colours in that one, very very bright!

This palette contains both matte and shimmery colours, with the black being matte.

The colours are as follows:
Top row: Bow, Organza, Ribbon, Gift Basket, Glitz, Celebrate
Bottom row: Pamper, Gateau, The Mail, Boxed, Wrapped Up, Noir

I love this huge mirror!

I also got this cute pure white shimmery poilish by Zoya called “Ginessa” from Bio Beauty. They had a selection of O.P.I. (including Shatter polishes), Essie and China Glaze.

I fell in love with this at first glance ^___^. It has the tiniest micro-glitter, so it gives a nice sheen. It looks perfect for a wedding if you ask me.

Finally I got an authentic Indian Henna Tattoo. It’s only supposed to last one week sadly, but it wasn’t too expensive. This was something I wanted for about a year now.

This is how it looked after the paste dried. (If you watch the video, you’ll see footage of it wet.)

I think this is two days after it was applied. It’s sooo pretty :). I think this is better than painting my nails lol. Sadly it’s wearing off.. and I don’t think it’ll survive until Tuesday.

It was pretty while it lasted ^__^ and I may get another at some point. (excuse the quality of those last photos, those were taken with my phone).
What do you think of what I got? Liked my henna tattoo? Would you get a henna tattoo?
Until next post, enjoy your week!

Huge make up haul! (Duty-free day!)

Hey all! This post is going to me very picture-loaded! Iwent shopping on Duty-free Day (9th December), and believe me when I say that was the best thing for some one like me who was always eyeing the cosmetics in Cave Shepherd. I didn’t splurge on M.A.C. or any of the department store brands available in store, but instead drifted towards the Revlon products. Some awesome lip products I had heard many gurus rave about. (I still don’t think I’m ready to completely step into M.A.C, especially not with the prices here lol).

I planned ahead and went to town a day earlier, so I could take into account the available items and the prices. I was extremely excited about the whole thing from the Monday I heard about it. Of course I made my list of stuff so I didn’t forget anything and checked swatches online. That’s always a good idea when you’re going out shopping for new make up.

The lines were long in Cave Shepherd despite leaving home early (arriving around 10 a.m. I think), but I braved the wait for the love of make up and bargains! Onto the HAUL! All Swatches of lip products will be included in another post.

The night before, my sister and I strategised and finalised our shopping lists haha. Talk about crazy make-up lovers. She also had a couple extra Lorac make up products lying around and asked if I wanted some. Of course I said YES, what a great way to expand my collection :). Above in the first picture is the Lorac Baked Satin eyeshadow in Posh (beige) and Chic (white). Iam really loving chic, perfect highlight or great for my shimmery neutral eye. As well as the Lorac On-Scene Duo in Champagne and Caviar, it’s a nice highlighter-eyeliner shing-ding. (More on that in another post)

Lorac Lotsa Lip Plumping lipgloss in Foxy & Trixy:

Duty- Free Deals!

Revlon Colorbrust Lipgloss in Papaya & Pink Ice: $21.00 BDS

A bit blurry but you see the names.
Closer look at the colours

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick- Peach: ~$20.00 BDS
I was looking for a nice coral colour (as with Papaya above), I have way too many pinks, and I really wanted to expand my collection.

Love the packaging on this, very sleek and sophisticated.

Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain in Twilight (my sister’s) and Passion (mine): ~$18.00BDS
I’ve tried this already, and it’s really easy to overdose on the colour if you dont have good lighting, I’ve definitely made that mistake. Also you need to moisturise if in cold weather with these, I was at work and the air conditioning was totally drying me out and I forgot my lip balm, ended up licking it all off in 3 hours hahah.

Felt tip applicators much like markers. it’s like drawing on your lips!

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Raisin Rage, Black Cherry & Va Va Violet: ~$19.00BDS
We choose some really vampy dark colours, the one I picked out specifically was Black berry, that was the perfect in between colour for me. My sister looks way better with darker lip colours than me. and I think she really likes Va Va Violet which I suggested. (Loved the name haha).

Clinique Dramatically different Moisturising Gel: ~$24.50
Now as many might remember I had the Garnier Nutritioniste Refreshing Gel-cream (condensed name haha). It was actually a really nice moistuirser, love that it was a gel so it wasn’t very heavy. But instead of buying it over, I took advantage of the deal as the Clinique moisturiser would be around the same price. I wanted to try it out since I had heard about gel moisturisers in the Summer, so this was my chance to get  an equal amount of cream from a department store brand, for the same price as a similarly sized drugstore one. YAY for experimentation, I hope it works just as well or even better!

(Not Duty-free but still awesome)
Guess what else I also found while browsing? NYC Sunny Bronzer! I’ve been hearing about this for THE longest time on YouTube, so I picked one up while I was in Collin’s Pharmacy, along with the Maybelline Fit Me foundation in 350 (Caramel) that I wanted to try for quite some time. Also picked up a new mascara, the Maybelline Great Lash Big and a Bodico foundation brush. All this time I’ve been applying foundation with my fingers, but I think it was about time to get an actual brush haha.
I didn’t take separate pictures of those, because this post would go on forever!  but everything is in the first two photos.
Would you believe this? But what girl doesn’t have a pair of tweezers? Apparently I didn’t, so I also picked up a cute set which had a girl imprinted into the handles. I love it, and I’m going to use it to apply lashes.  Also picked up some lash glue from Diamond Girl Beauty Supply by Sassi, tested a drop on my hand and it’s pretty good. Dries nice and clear is the brush on type. (BTW Adele Tutorial will be coming soon, I finally have the lashes, glue, tweezers, and the eye make up! YAY!)

Disclaimer: All this stuff unless otherwise stated was bought with my own money.
Here ends my haul, I haven’t shown any swatches in this post because that would take forever, but I hope you enjoyed and look out for the post with swatches, as well as the Holiday gift guide for your loved one. I think I have 2 more instalments for each and I will try to get them up before Wednesday next week. We’ll see how it goes! (There should also be a video on this too, so look out for it!)

Happy Holiday Shopping!

XOXO
