Bruk it down at KadUWIval 2012!

Hey all! Here are a couple photos from KadUWIval! Despite a few technical difficulties, It was one of the most fun things I’ve done this year. I enjoyed myself to the MAX!

I did my make up before the jump and amazingly it lasted all day as you will see with the last photo. The camera really is not showing just how bright it was hahaha.

I used the Coastal Scents palette I made last year, the Milani Liquif’eye black eyeliner, e.l.f essentials lipstick in Fantasy and the Revlon Just Bitten lipstain in Passion (to prolong the wear of the lipstick), as well as my Maybelline Fit Me foundation in 350 Caramel, N.Y.C. Sunny Bronzer and L.A. Colors blush in Cinnamon. I also wore some lashes, Miss Adoro #46. I think i may be getting a bit better at applying them too!

Anyway onto the pics!

Right after applying my make up 🙂
I was very happy that the make up turned out so well!

Happy Valentine’s Day & Tutorial!

Hey everyone, as you could already tell my the title of this post tomorrow is the official day of LOVE! Many of us are going out or doing something special with our loved ones. For those of you going out, I’ve done this make up look to celebrate the occasion.

Actually I had done this look last week on whim and I really liked how it turned out. Being at a bit of a lost for a Valentine’s Day tutorial, I decided to retry this eye make up as it was cute, yet sultry enough to be worn for an evening.

Even if you’re not going out you can still try out this look if you like it, and if you’re single this February, who knows this captivating eye make up could draw some wanted attention to your gorgeous eyes and someone might even fall for you ^_^.

I used pink eyeshadow, which is in my opinion a much softer and less cliche colour for February 14th, and had darkened the crease with a deep mauve and charcoal colour.

Since the eyes are a bit colourful, I kept the lips soft and nude. Many guys do not like brightly coloured make up, it can be a bit distracting or some may even consider it intimidating. Plus with neutral lip gloss or lipstick, your guy will not be scared to kiss you  and risk getting lipstick on himself. Also try not to gloss it up too much if you do plan on wearing lip gloss.

Don’t overdo the blush either, check in natural lighting if you can to keep it to a nice flush, or a rosy glow. Although in the video it looks as if I have applied a ton of blush, it’s amazing how much of a flush it blended out to be (as you will see in the photos).

Sadly I have a Chemistry practical tomorrow too, so we’ll see how that plays out. So my boyfriend and I are actually staying in this Valentine’s Day, I can’t wait to spend some more quality time with him :). I’ve been quite busy lately!

I don’t want to say too much in this post, just in case he happens to read it, but I have a small surprise for my T. I really hope you like it. ^___^ hehe!

Must-do for next year: Girlfriend’s Expo!

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to volunteer at the Girlfriend’s Expo at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre (previously Sherbourne Conference Centre), and it was fantastic! I absolutely loved it! Both the patrons and the volunteers were treated very well. Although we would be behind the scenes running around, packaging goodie bags and such for the patrons about every hour, we still had a chance to browse the exhibits and enjoy the showcases the expo provided the patrons. In case you were wondering the expo ran for 2 days.

The exhibition is namely for females, however I realised that many of the displays, seminars and even the shows were unisex. So I would definitely recommend that guys attend too, especially because you could pick up something your girlfriend or wife has been eyeing before Valentines Day.

Taken from the GFE Facebook page

There were so many exhibitors present, from make-up retailers, car dealers, travel agencies, health and wellness (including sexual wellness), to apparel stores and major distributors.  I think one of the highlights was Move 2 More, a fitness centre which showcased pole and belly dancing. The pole dancing sessions definitely drew crowds to the entertainment room each day.

The seminars in the speaker’s room were very interesting topics ranging from the “power of the Purse” by Miche Bags, “20 Tips to Healthy Living” by Healing Earth Life Products to “Smart People, Smart Sex” by the Better Blends Relationship Institute.

Many of the exhibitors gave out samples, which is one thing that Bajans particularly love and there were many chances to win items from both the holders of the expo and exhibitors.

The best part for me, besides the food, samples and pole dancing, was the make-up displays. I was stuck by the number of brand names which I thought were not and would not ever be available in Barbados. But I actually saw very many of them, O.P.I., China Glaze, Essie, Eco Tools, Naked Cosmetics, Sleek Make up UK, Color Club, OCC (Obsessive Complusive Cosmetics) and Sugar Pill, to name a few. I just went a round the first day in awe.

Ash next to her new favourite car 🙂

I made sure to make some connections with the owners of these booths because it would be great to buy such cosmetics at some point. I heard so many good things about each of them! I tried not to splurge too much but I did get a Sleek Palette that I had been eyeing for a very long time, from Essential Trends and a Zoya Nail polish which was bought on whim as it was so pretty. More on those soon.

I also had the opportunity to meet a bajan YouTuber who makes the cutest bows ever! (remind me so much of Hello Kitty ^__^). She was really nice, and luckily Ashley got one of her bows in sequin black. I also saw two other Bajan YouTubers, however from start to finish their booth was always busy, so I hadn’t the chance to say hello.

There was also Make up Doll Cosmetics at the expo. I’m actually very proud of this bajan brand and I can’t wait to try more of their products. My first YouTube review was on their starter product, a beautiful gold eyeshadow I still have.

Another highlight for me was meeting Lashawna from ColourCoded, the group who had brought in PurseBuzz for an O2B2 session in Barbados! She was very kind, and Icouldn’t help but admire their booth. They were doing makeovers, and henna tattoos which I got one done (you’ll see in video), as well as selling BH cosmetics palettes (eyeshadow, concealer and blush palettes) and NAKED cosmetic pigments very affordable. I think they even had train cases!

Oh to be behind the wheel…

Like I said, Girlfriend’s expo was great for me and will definitely try to volunteer again! I hope you enjoy the photos, sorry about the quality, they were taken with my phone, but the second day I brought my video camera it was very busy, hahaha.

Until next post, Enjoy!

In the car off to an adventure ^__^

Huge make up haul! (Duty-free day!)

Hey all! This post is going to me very picture-loaded! Iwent shopping on Duty-free Day (9th December), and believe me when I say that was the best thing for some one like me who was always eyeing the cosmetics in Cave Shepherd. I didn’t splurge on M.A.C. or any of the department store brands available in store, but instead drifted towards the Revlon products. Some awesome lip products I had heard many gurus rave about. (I still don’t think I’m ready to completely step into M.A.C, especially not with the prices here lol).

I planned ahead and went to town a day earlier, so I could take into account the available items and the prices. I was extremely excited about the whole thing from the Monday I heard about it. Of course I made my list of stuff so I didn’t forget anything and checked swatches online. That’s always a good idea when you’re going out shopping for new make up.

The lines were long in Cave Shepherd despite leaving home early (arriving around 10 a.m. I think), but I braved the wait for the love of make up and bargains! Onto the HAUL! All Swatches of lip products will be included in another post.

The night before, my sister and I strategised and finalised our shopping lists haha. Talk about crazy make-up lovers. She also had a couple extra Lorac make up products lying around and asked if I wanted some. Of course I said YES, what a great way to expand my collection :). Above in the first picture is the Lorac Baked Satin eyeshadow in Posh (beige) and Chic (white). Iam really loving chic, perfect highlight or great for my shimmery neutral eye. As well as the Lorac On-Scene Duo in Champagne and Caviar, it’s a nice highlighter-eyeliner shing-ding. (More on that in another post)

Lorac Lotsa Lip Plumping lipgloss in Foxy & Trixy:

Duty- Free Deals!

Revlon Colorbrust Lipgloss in Papaya & Pink Ice: $21.00 BDS

A bit blurry but you see the names.
Closer look at the colours

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick- Peach: ~$20.00 BDS
I was looking for a nice coral colour (as with Papaya above), I have way too many pinks, and I really wanted to expand my collection.

Love the packaging on this, very sleek and sophisticated.

Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain in Twilight (my sister’s) and Passion (mine): ~$18.00BDS
I’ve tried this already, and it’s really easy to overdose on the colour if you dont have good lighting, I’ve definitely made that mistake. Also you need to moisturise if in cold weather with these, I was at work and the air conditioning was totally drying me out and I forgot my lip balm, ended up licking it all off in 3 hours hahah.

Felt tip applicators much like markers. it’s like drawing on your lips!

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Raisin Rage, Black Cherry & Va Va Violet: ~$19.00BDS
We choose some really vampy dark colours, the one I picked out specifically was Black berry, that was the perfect in between colour for me. My sister looks way better with darker lip colours than me. and I think she really likes Va Va Violet which I suggested. (Loved the name haha).

Clinique Dramatically different Moisturising Gel: ~$24.50
Now as many might remember I had the Garnier Nutritioniste Refreshing Gel-cream (condensed name haha). It was actually a really nice moistuirser, love that it was a gel so it wasn’t very heavy. But instead of buying it over, I took advantage of the deal as the Clinique moisturiser would be around the same price. I wanted to try it out since I had heard about gel moisturisers in the Summer, so this was my chance to get  an equal amount of cream from a department store brand, for the same price as a similarly sized drugstore one. YAY for experimentation, I hope it works just as well or even better!

(Not Duty-free but still awesome)
Guess what else I also found while browsing? NYC Sunny Bronzer! I’ve been hearing about this for THE longest time on YouTube, so I picked one up while I was in Collin’s Pharmacy, along with the Maybelline Fit Me foundation in 350 (Caramel) that I wanted to try for quite some time. Also picked up a new mascara, the Maybelline Great Lash Big and a Bodico foundation brush. All this time I’ve been applying foundation with my fingers, but I think it was about time to get an actual brush haha.
I didn’t take separate pictures of those, because this post would go on forever!  but everything is in the first two photos.
Would you believe this? But what girl doesn’t have a pair of tweezers? Apparently I didn’t, so I also picked up a cute set which had a girl imprinted into the handles. I love it, and I’m going to use it to apply lashes.  Also picked up some lash glue from Diamond Girl Beauty Supply by Sassi, tested a drop on my hand and it’s pretty good. Dries nice and clear is the brush on type. (BTW Adele Tutorial will be coming soon, I finally have the lashes, glue, tweezers, and the eye make up! YAY!)

Disclaimer: All this stuff unless otherwise stated was bought with my own money.
Here ends my haul, I haven’t shown any swatches in this post because that would take forever, but I hope you enjoyed and look out for the post with swatches, as well as the Holiday gift guide for your loved one. I think I have 2 more instalments for each and I will try to get them up before Wednesday next week. We’ll see how it goes! (There should also be a video on this too, so look out for it!)

Happy Holiday Shopping!

Turquatic Aquatic Tutorial!

Hey all! This weeks has taken a much better turn since last post, I’m so pleased! Anyway, I was requested to do  a blue and green look by LeyaHollingsworth and Amorpuppy1 and I also happened to stumble across the Turquatic fragrance M.A.C. Cosmetics had recently released. I love the packaging of it, but as far as reviews have shown, the scent is not as pretty as the bottle. See more about M.A.C.’s turquatic here on Temptalia! or more here!

So on Saturday I played with my new Coastal Scents eyeshadows (swatches here) and I came up with a cut-crease eye look which I really liked.
Luckily enough for you, I am going to be doing sneak previews here on my blog! So here we go! WHen the video finally loads I will be posting it here as well. ENJOY!

I think I might have used a bit too much base because it started to crease a while after.

The "Blackman Look" Blooper Reel!!

Hey all! Here is the awaited blooper reel from The Blackman Look.

It’s actually not as horrible as he thought and is only about a minute long so yay! I think he did a good job on the make up, he kept asking me the entire time.  But he did well without much direction.. except for the blush hahah, you’ll see what I mean hahah.

Btw this video is exclusive to my blog so you shouldn’t see it on my channel. Should I do more posts with videos exclusive to my blog?

Enjoy!

Also here is the video from the Blackman Look.

CONTEST! http://bit.ly/pMhLom

Make me Crazy!!

I’ve been eyeing this brush set since December 2010, and I can’t wait to save up enough to buy it.

This set includes:
Eyeliner – E05
Pencil – E30

Tapered Blending – E40
Eye Shading – E55
Large Shader – E60
Small Angle – E65

Medium Angled Shading – E70
Large Powder – F30
Large Angled Contour – F40
Duo Fibre – F50
Foundation – F60
Concealer – F70

REASONS WHY I AM LOVING THIS SET:
1. It’s a gorgeous colour- PURPLE!
2. I have read a lot about the quality of Sigma brushes and it seems they are very outstanding
3. The set has every single brush one could possibly need to start off their kit.
4. The price is not bad compared to that of higher-end brushes separately. (Like M.A.C. for instance, especially here it is veryyy expensive)
5. Again I LOVE THE LOOK and the convenience of this set!

Tropical-ish Make up Look

Hey all, this look was requested by LeyaHollingsworth (on youtube, also known as my friend Ashley ^__^), from my Makeup Doll review/ 88 matte palette video.

She asked me to do a tutorial with yellows, oranges and blacks, however I wasn’t liking how the yellow was applying.. it was a little to close to my skintone and just blended in. So I will do another look when I get a completely white base where I do exactly that look. For this look, I reversed the order from yellow-orange purple to purple-orange yellow.  Sorry to disappoint if I did, but I hope you improve and attain more beauty products which will help me to create more outrageous looks.
In the video, I was trying out a couple of things, slightly different backdrop, different camera settings, slightly different editing and voice overs. Please comment on the effectiveness of this style (that sounded like an exam question lolol).

Oh yes, I was trying to show the proucts and colours in the videos, but I had gotten accustomed to the zoom on the camera so they all look really bad and none of the eyeshadow colours are shown on the screen. Thus I have taken a picture and circled the colours used. Usually I would use Adobe Photoshop for something like that, but I do not have it on this computer. Hope what I did in Paint will suffice. ^__^ Enjoy!

Looks like a 4 year old did this lolol

When I did this look I thought it was a lot more bright that it looks, but in pictures it doesn’t look as bright, which may be a good thing.
